How to Buy USDT on Binance? Quick Buy and P2P Methods

To start trading on Binance, the first step is buying USDT. USDT is the most commonly used stablecoin — almost all coins can be traded with it. If you don't have an account yet, register on Binance first. Mobile users can directly download the Binance APP for a more convenient experience.

Before Buying USDT

  • Complete identity verification (KYC) — otherwise you can't make fiat purchases
  • Have a payment method ready: bank card, Alipay, or WeChat all work

Method 1: Quick Buy

This is the simplest method, perfect for beginners.

  1. Open the Binance APP and tap "Buy Crypto" on the homepage
  2. Select USDT as the coin to purchase
  3. Enter the amount of fiat you want to spend, e.g., 500
  4. Select a payment method (bank transfer, etc.)
  5. The system will automatically match you with a merchant — confirm the price and place the order
  6. Follow the instructions to transfer funds to the merchant
  7. After transferring, tap "I've Paid"
  8. Once the merchant confirms receipt, USDT will arrive in your account

The whole process typically takes just a few minutes.

Method 2: C2C Trading

C2C means trading directly with other users, potentially at better prices.

  1. Tap "Trade" at the bottom of the APP, then switch to "C2C"
  2. Select "Buy" and choose USDT
  3. Browse the merchant list — you can see each merchant's price, minimum amount, and payment methods
  4. Choose a suitable merchant, enter the amount, and place the order
  5. Transfer funds according to the merchant's payment details
  6. After transferring, tap "I've Paid" and wait for the merchant to release the coins

Tips for Choosing a Merchant

  • Prioritize merchants with the "Verified Merchant" badge — they've been vetted by the platform
  • Check trade volume and positive feedback rate — higher is more reliable
  • Note the minimum transaction amount — some merchants have limits

Important Things to Know

Don't Include Any Crypto-Related Notes

When making the transfer, never write anything like "USDT," "Bitcoin," or "Binance" in the remarks field — this could trigger your bank's risk controls.

Always Transfer Before Tapping "I've Paid"

Don't tap the confirmation button before actually making the transfer — this will be flagged as malicious behavior and hurt your account reputation.

Prices Fluctuate

The USDT-to-fiat exchange rate isn't fixed — it typically fluctuates between 7.1 and 7.3 CNY, and different merchants may quote slightly different prices.

After purchasing USDT, it will be in your "Funding Account." If you want to do spot trading, you'll need to transfer the USDT to your "Spot Account" first — this takes just one tap in the APP, arrives instantly, and is completely free.
