The most tiring part of crypto trading is watching the charts all day. Binance actually has a price alert feature — once set up, it'll automatically notify you when the price hits your target. Make sure you've register on Binance and have an account, and download the Binance APP to your phone, since price alerts mainly work through APP push notifications.
Setting Up Price Alerts on the Binance APP
Method 1: From the K-Line Chart
- Open the Binance APP and go to the trading pair page you're interested in, such as BTC/USDT
- Tap the bell icon above the K-line chart
- Select the alert type: price crosses above or price crosses below
- Enter your target price
- Tap "Create Alert"
Method 2: From the Markets Page
- On the Binance APP homepage, tap "Markets"
- Find the coin you want to set an alert for
- Long press on the coin — a menu will pop up
- Select "Price Alert"
- Set your target price and confirm
What Types of Alerts Can You Set?
Price Target Alert
The most commonly used type. Set a specific price, and you'll be notified when the market price reaches it. For example, BTC is currently at 60,000 — set an alert at 58,000, and the APP will push a notification when it drops to that level.
Percentage Change Alert
You can set alerts for when a coin rises or falls by a certain percentage within a given timeframe. For example, set an alert for when ETH drops more than 10% in 24 hours, making it easier to catch buy-the-dip opportunities.
Periodic Alert
You can also set timed alerts, such as a daily BTC price update at 9 AM, to help you build the habit of checking the market.
Ensuring You Receive Alert Notifications
After setting up price alerts, make sure your phone can receive push notifications:
- Enable APP notification permissions: Go to your phone's settings, find the Binance APP, and make sure notifications are turned on
- Don't disable background running: Some phones automatically clear background apps — add Binance to the whitelist
- Check in-app notification settings: Go to the APP's settings page and confirm the price alert notification toggle is on
Practical Scenarios for Price Alerts
Scenario 1: Waiting to Buy the Dip
You're bullish on ETH and think 2,800 is a good buy point. Set a price alert at 2,800, go about your day, and the APP will notify you when it hits that price.
Scenario 2: Take-Profit Reminder
You bought BTC at 50,000 and your target is 65,000 to sell. Set an alert at 65,000 so you can act quickly when it reaches that price.
Scenario 3: Monitoring Unusual Volatility
Set large percentage change alerts for coins you hold — for example, a notification if the price moves up or down more than 5% within one hour, so you can respond promptly to sudden market moves.
Managing Your Alerts
In the Binance APP, tap the bell icon in the top right corner of the "Markets" page to view and manage all your price alerts. You can modify target prices, delete alerts you no longer need, or temporarily disable specific alerts.
Each account has a maximum number of alerts you can set, so it's recommended to keep only the ones you truly need and clean up expired alerts promptly.
