Forgetting your password is common, especially when you have accounts on multiple platforms. Don't worry — your Binance password can be recovered. If you haven't installed the client yet, you can download the Binance APP first. If you already have an account, go ahead with the recovery process; if not, register on Binance first.
Steps to Reset Your Password
On the APP
- Open the Binance APP and tap "Forgot Password" on the login page
- Enter the email or phone number you used to register
- The system will send a verification code to your email or phone
- Enter the verification code and set a new password
- If you have Google Authenticator linked, you'll also need to enter the Google verification code
- Once all verifications pass, your password reset is complete
On the Website
The process is the same — go to the Binance login page, click "Forgot Password," and follow the prompts.
Restrictions After Password Reset
Important: After successfully resetting your password, your account will be temporarily restricted from withdrawals, usually for 24 hours. This is to protect your funds in case someone else initiated the reset.
During these 24 hours:
- You can log in and trade normally
- But you cannot withdraw cryptocurrency
- You cannot sell crypto via C2C
Everything returns to normal after the restriction period.
If You Can't Receive Verification Codes by Email or Phone
Email not arriving
- Check your spam/junk folder
- Make sure you entered the correct email address
- Wait a few minutes and try again — emails can sometimes be delayed
- Try checking with a different email client
Phone not receiving SMS
- Confirm your phone number is correct, including the country code
- Check if SMS blocking is enabled on your phone
- Restart your phone and try again
- Make sure your phone has signal
What If You've Changed Both Your Phone Number and Email?
If you no longer have access to the phone number and email you registered with, you'll need to contact Binance's online customer support to request account recovery.
Have the following information ready:
- The email or phone number used during registration
- ID information
- Details of devices you previously logged in from
- Approximate account balance
- You may also need to record a video of yourself holding your ID
Customer support review takes some time, but it's usually processed within a few business days.
How to Avoid Forgetting Your Password
Use a Password Manager
Use tools like 1Password or Bitwarden to store your passwords — it's both secure and hard to forget.
Don't Make It So Complex That You Can't Remember
Your password should be secure but also memorable. Try using the first letters of a meaningful sentence combined with numbers.
Enable Multiple Verification Methods
Link your email, phone number, and Google Authenticator. This way, even if one method fails, you can still verify your identity through the others.
Protecting your password and verification methods is fundamental to managing your assets well.
